At the start of the Ridge Route, which was the first paved highway between the Los Angeles Basin and the San Joaquin Valley, is the community of Castaic. Homes here are constructed in what was once was a favorite stopping point for travelers along the route, because of the many nearby amenities. People who buy Castaic real estate can enjoy amenities and an ideal location. Located along Interstate 5 on the outskirts of Santa Clarita, Castaic lies between two major greenbelt areas. Just north of the community is Fort Tejon State Historic Park, as well as the Sespe Condor Sanctuary, while Angeles National Forest lies to the south. The Castaic Lake Recreation Area is one of the major area attractions, as residents and visitors alike enjoy boating and swimming. There are also many other recreational areas not far from Castaic, between Thousand Oaks and Malibu.
This is a desirable area, but you will find Castaic homes to suit all budgets. There are beautiful luxury homes with lots of interior space, private pools and room for guests, but you can also find reasonable three-bedroom homes that give access to the same amenities. With easy access to Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverley Hills and more, a home in Castaic is a great investment.
